Triple P Family Transitions is a 5-week group programme designed for families, where parents are divorced, separated, or separating.

You may find it useful to request a parent or both parents to attend this group, if they are experiencing parental conflict within their separation and need extra support around this.

The reasons why parents may need this course are:

  • Children might be caught in the middle of their conflicts.
  • Parent’s might be finding it difficult to co-parent now they are no longer together.
  • They might be arguing over childcare arrangements.
  • Parents may be struggling to manage their finances.
  • The children’s emotional wellbeing could be impacted.

If you’re working with a family and this sounds familiar, Family Transitions Triple P can help.

Parents who completed Family Transitions reported:

  • ‘Lower expressed anger’
  • ‘Lower trait anger’
  • ‘Lower levels of dysfunctional parenting’
  • ‘Lower levels of child behaviour problems’

Here is an overview of what the programme looks like:

  • Session 1: Divorce/separation- Family Transition
  • Session 2: Coping with emotions 1
  • Session 3: Coping with emotions 2
  • Session 4: Managing conflict
  • Session 5: Balancing work, family, and play.
